JAX @ BUF: Wide left
On this play Buffalo running back James Cook barrels over the end zone, not “into” it, as described by ESPN’s well-intentioned Chris Fowler.
Jacksonville cornerback Christian Braswell (21), just promoted from the practice squad, fights off a block and keeps Cook from landing in the designated scoring area (i.e., the end zone), forcing him to land out of bounds. That should be worth something.
It’s not. Cook’s end zone flyover is instead deemed worthy of six points. That, to us, does not look or feel right. Hocus Bogus rating: 4

NYG @ CLE: No touch? No problem
One thing that is certain about this play is that New York running back Devin Singletary never touches the end zone. That is clear. Indisputable. Without question.
Instead, officials and announcers alike spend time pondering whether or not Singletary broke the Great Invisible Plane. That, in contrast, is unclear; open to dispute; highly questionable.
Cleveland defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson (72) clearly flattens Singletary short of the goal line, with an assist from linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (6). That’s great D, obfuscated by a dumb rule. Singletary is gifted six points. Rating: 4
